GENERAL PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF THE SLOVAK REPUBLIC: Bilateral meeting with the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan

On 22 and 23 June 2026, the Prosecutor General of the Slovak Republic, Maroš Žilinka, welcomed a delegation led by the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Kamran Bayram Aliyev.

The working meeting of the delegations focused on legal issues of liability associated with the use, unauthorized creation, and distribution of AI-generated content, financial investigation, management and disposal of seized proceeds of crime, as well as the area of combating corruption. The significance of the fight against corruption was highlighted by the presence of Nazim Hafiz Rajabov, Deputy Prosecutor General and Director of the Anti-Corruption Directorate with the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan. 

It was precisely in these areas that both parties confirmed a mutual interest in the exchange of expert knowledge and experience through exchange programs, expert seminars, and joint training sessions. These activities would represent the direct implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding between the General Prosecutor's Office of the Slovak Republic and the General Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Azerbaijan, which Maroš Žilinka signed with the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General on 19 May 2025 in Baku.

During the bilateral meeting, officials from both prosecutor general's offices underscored the importance of international legal cooperation, especially in today's fast-changing environment, and welcomed the opportunity to deepen their shared professional dialogue.

Both prosecutors’ general were also received by the President of the Judicial Council of the Slovak Republic, Marcela Kosová, with whom they discussed the organization of the court system and the status of prosecution authorities within judicial systems.

At the same time, Maroš Žilinka especially appreciated the activities of the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Kamran Bayram Aliyev, in his capacity as Vice-President of the International Association of Prosecutors (IAP), thanks to which Azerbaijan has become a leader in supporting global prosecutorial dialogue.
